Brief Introduction to Eye Lifting Nuts

Times:2016/11/11

In general, only eye lifting nuts and corresponding screws of the same specification can be connected and used in a matched set, as the internal threads of eye lifting nuts also come in different specifications. The fitting often used in conjunction with eye lifting nuts is external threaded studs, and together they are used to lift various equipment such as molds, motors, cabinets and other heavy-duty equipment.

The production standard for eye lifting nuts is JB/T 7382, which specifies the internal thread specifications of eye lifting nuts as M8-M100*6. This standard also references other fastener production standards, including GB 90 for fastener acceptance, marking and packaging standards; GB 196 for basic dimensions of general threads, which specifies that the diameter range of eye lifting nuts is 1mm-600mm; GB 197 for tolerances and fits of general threads of eye lifting nuts, which specifies that the diameter tolerance range is only 1mm-355mm; GB 230 for Rockwell hardness test method of metals; GB 699 for technical requirements for quality carbon structural steels; GB 1237 for marking method of fasteners; GB 5267 for electroplated coatings on threaded fasteners; and GB 6394 for methods for measuring average grain size of metals.

According to the production standards for eye lifting nuts, we can learn that the maximum lifting capacity of Grade A1 eye lifting nuts applies to bolts or threaded rods of 8KG specified in the standard, and the minimum length of such bolts or studs shall be 0.81D. To prevent eye lifting nut failure, the standard also specifies that the tensile strength of bolts or studs shall not exceed 500N/mm² when the eye lifting nuts are overloaded. In addition, the Grade A3 standard stipulates that eye lifting nuts shall not bear loads of objects perpendicular to the eye lifting nut plane.
